Holland America Line focuses Down Under after Jane McDonald’s hit Noordam experience

Jane McDonald certainly has selling power, which must be why Holland America Line is highlighting its Australia and New Zealand itineraries following the first episode of her latest cruise series on Channel 5.

Cruising with Jane McDonald kicked off on Friday (8 June) with the singer-celebrity exploring the best of Australia and New Zealand while cruising on the Holland America ship, Noordam.

Says Lynn Narraway, UK managing director at Holland America Line: “Cruising with Jane McDonald has proven to be a hugely popular show that we’re delighted to see has captured the imaginations of the British public.

“The series highlights the amazing destinations that can be enjoyed through cruising, and how on-board entertainment and amenities can truly enrich the travelling experience.”

The following Noordam itineraries depart from Sydney in 2019, showcasing destinations of dramatic scenery and the rich heritage of Australia and New Zealand on 10 or 14-night explorer trips.

14-night Australia and New Zealand
24 February – 10 March 2019
From £1,569 per person

Departing Sydney Harbour, this itinerary visits the cultural hotspot of Melbourne before heading to Tasmania’s Hobart, followed by New Zealand’s stunning Milford Sound, historic Dunedin, Picton, Wellington, Napier, Rotarua, and finishing in the cosmopolitan city of Auckland.

In Rotarua, the curved shoreline of the Bay of Plenty is home to New Zealand’s only active marine volcano, as well as 650 years of Maori history. For the outdoor adventurer there are white-sand beaches, with the city offering visitors a number of water-focused activities, like sailing and kayaking. For those looking to immerse themselves in the cultural scene, destinations such as Christchurch offer guests the chance to experience the French influence of the oldest European settlement on the South Island.

This cruise also gives nature lovers the opportunity to see a range of incredibly diverse wildlife and landscapes, whether it be getting up close with a Tasmanian Devil in the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary or enjoying a scenic trip through the Fiordland National Park.
