Claire Sweeney, who stars in Channel 5’s new four-part drama The Good Ship Murder which is set on board MSC Virtuosa, is no stranger to the sea.
The former Brookside actress, pictured, in fact began her her professional career 30 years ago singing in production shows for P&O Cruises.
In Good Ship Murder, which premiered last night (13 October), she steps up a rung or two as entertainment manager Beverley Carnell.
The mystery drama unfolds on the MSC Cruises ship Virtuosa as it sails from Southampton for the warmer waters of the Mediterranean, visiting destinations such as Lisbon, Valencia, Barcelona, Le Havre and Valletta along the way.
Shayne Ward stars as cruise ship singer and ex-detective Jack Grayling while Catherine Tyldesley dons the uniform of first officer Kate Woods.
Together they solve a spate of murders around different areas of the luxury liner, from the Carousel Lounge to the MSC Yacht Club.

MSC Virtuosa launched in November 2019 and is the second of the cruise line’s Meraviglia-plus Class ships, accommodating over 6,000 guests.
The Good Ship Murder, Channel 5 on Fridays at 9pm.
