The Taipan

Almost like a private country club…

The Taipan, formerly MegaStar Aries, is almost like a private country club, offering all the privacy and luxury one would expect but the difference being you are cruising on high seas.

This all-suite boutique cruise ship is the most compact of the Star Cruises fleet and has the ambiance of a private yacht.

It offers two up-market restaurants, a sophisticated cocktail lounge and some unique sports facilities, including a miniature submersible for exploring the ocean.

Everything on this ship is small but perfectly formed, including the swimming pool, massage room and hair salon. Foot reflexology and full body massage treatments are also available. The gymnasium is equipped with the latest fitness gear to keep you in shape.

The Taipan offers just 32 suites ranging from the Commodore Suite, with king size bed and a large lounge, to the Maxim’s Suites which can sleep up to four people in comfort.

Built in 1989 and previously in service as MegaStar Aries (1994–2013) and Genting World (2013–2015), Taipan joined the Star fleet in 1993 and was refurbished in 2013.
