The 3,560-guest ship has been built specifically for the Chinese market
Majestic Princess is the newest ship in the Princess Cruises fleet, and with one big difference … she has been built specifically for the Chinese market.
She sailed her inaugural voyage on 4 April, 2017, on a five-day Adriatic Sea cruise roundtrip from Rome with stops in Kotor and Corfu, which was followed by six weeks in the Mediterranean before heading for a life in China.
UK guests had a unique chance to experience the ship on 7, 14, 21 and 28-day cruises departing from Rome, Barcelona or Athens before her repositioning voyage from Barcelona on 14 May to the ships permanent homeport in Shanghai, to cruise to a variety of destinations in Japan and Korea.
The Royal-class ship, a sister to Regal Princess and Royal Princess, offers many of the same distinctive features, including the Piazza atrium, the central focal point of the ship; the unique over-the-ocean SeaWalk – a glass-floor walkway extending 28ft beyond the edge of the ship; the Princess Live! TV studio; and the special Chefs Table Lumiere, a private dining experience that surrounds guests in a curtain of light.
Majestic Princess offers facilities and amenities that appeal to Asian guests. The ship has the largest duty free shopping onboard any cruise ship, with nearly 1,100 sqm of luxury boutiques.
In addition to the Harmony Restaurant, it also has the Chopsticks Noodle Bar, Lobster & Dim Sum bar; karaoke suites; an indoor swimming pool called Hollywood Pool Club which turns into a nightclub at night; ballroom dancing classes and other facilities catering to the Asian guests.
