Hushed elegance and exclusivity that took luxury to a new level
With Silver Whisper and her twin sister Silver Shadow, Silversea took its successful design of elegant, all-suite, ultra-luxury ships to a new level.
By incorporating guest suggestions and technological innovations the created two vessels designed to carry Silverseas tradition of all-inclusive luxury and style into the new millennium.
The names themselves tie in perfectly with cruising – they are unobtrusive, as are the ships themselves, an important characteristic as the line navigates the worlds intimate harbours and waterways.
Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper joined the lines two existing ships, the 16,800 ton, 296 guest sister ships Silver Cloud and Silver Wind, and together they offered extended deployment in some of the worlds most popular cruising areas such as the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South America.
But Silver Whisper has kept abreast of the times and in 2016 underwent a significant a refurbishment, largely influenced by feedback from world cruisers, proving that Silversea guests are at the heart of the company operations.
The suites were refurbished and the bathrooms adorned with dark emperor marble flooring; public spaces benefited most, where a freshly tiled pool and new chaise longues breathed new levels of comfort and style into open air spaces. Dining areas at The Restaurant and La Terrazza were re-skinned with plush new carpet and elegant hard-wood parquet respectively, and each received new furniture.
Finally, Silver Whispers communications hub underwent a major overhaul with vastly improved internet speeds enabling guests to take full advantage of the new, interactive TVs and on demand movies available in every suite.
