Follow in the footsteps of Moby Dick author on Aranui 5 voyage to Nuku Hiva

Aranui 5

In 1842 American author Herman Melville, best remembered as the author of Moby Dick, landed on the island of Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas islands of French Polynesia. Now, 180 years on, passengers on the part cargo – part cruise ship Aranui 5 can see the island that so captivated Melville as part of a 12-day voyage to these remote and mystical lands.

Melville will be one of the subjects of a cultural themed 11-day cruise ‘Writers and Artists in Tahiti’, departing 7 May, with specialist lecturer Josiane Teamotuaitau.
