Three cruising veterans – Holland America Line’s Volendam, Oceania’s Sirena and Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas – are celebrating clocking up an impressive 25 years at sea.
Volendam, pictured below, celebrated the milestone after being delivered to the company by Fincantieri on 25 October, 1999, making her debut two weeks later.
Meanwhile, the 30,000-ton Sirena, originally built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique for Renaissance Cruises and then followed by stints with Princess Cruises and NCL Holdings, joined Oceania in March 2016 and underwent a $40m refurbishment.

Finally, Voyager of the Seas, pictured top of page, was delivered to Royal Caribbean by the Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Finland on 29 October. The ship was the first of the the 142,000-ton Eagle Class ships and, in 1999, was the world’s largest cruise ship.
