Marella Discovery has set sail from Port Canaveral for the first time, beginning a varied series of US and Caribbean sailings for the season.

The 1,830-guest ship sailed out from her homeport of Port Canaveral on 7 May for a series of summer sailings, including the Sunshine and Sands, American Dream, Floridian Favourites, Stateside Discovery and East Coast Adventure itineraries.

The port staged a sail-out event with a water cannon salute from two tugboats as the ship embarked on her first voyage which calls at Amber Coast, Dominican Republic; Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos; Key West, Florida; Miami, Florida before returning to Port Canaveral.

An All-American Deck Party took place with themed music sets, décor and hosts dressed in classic red, white and blue colours.

Guests will be able to enjoy the benefit of the ship’s recent cabin refurbishment, which offers a fresh and contemporary design.
