Windstar Cruises is to star in two episodes of the new series of Cruising With Susan Calman to be shown on Channel 5 early in the New Year.
The episodes, airing on January 12 and 19, will feature the sailing yacht Wind Spirit as Susan cruises Tahiti and the Tuamotus Islands and wonders at the natural beauty of the region and the fascinating Polynesian culture.
Throughout both episodes, Susan will share her experiences as she
- Snorkels with black tip sharks in Fakarava’s Blue Lagoon
- Visits the Gauguin’s Black Pearl Farm in Rangiroa
- Discovers the island of Bora Bora in an open-air truck and an outrigger canoe
- Accompanies the yacht’s executive chef on a visit to local market to buy supplies
- Joins Windstar’s complimentary Destinations Discovery Event on a small, pristine and secluded islet off Bora Bora
Augustus Lonsdale, head of sales for UK & Ireland, comments: “We were delighted to host Susan and the crew onboard Wind Spirit. Windstar has been sailing in Tahiti for more than 35 years so no other cruise line knows the islands like we do.”
From February, Wind Spirit will be replaced by the all-suite, 312-passenger Star Breeze which will sail year-round in Tahiti. Wind Spirit will move to the Greek Islands ahead of a a complete renovation in 2025.
