Princess Cruises 2021 Alaska programme that has been 50 years in the making

Ruby Princess in Alaska

Princess Cruises has been taking guests to Alaska for more than 50 years, which becomes apparent with its expansive 2021 Alaska spring and summer programme that offers a choice of 11 itineraries, visiting 17 destinations on eight ships, with voyages of four to 14 days.

Royal Princess, Sapphire Princess, Star Princess and Coral Princess will sail on a series of 7-night northbound and southbound Voyage of The Glaciers itineraries, with departures from Vancouver and Anchorage (Whittier). All sailings will offer two glacier viewing opportunities.

Regal Princess, making its maiden Alaska season, and Emerald Princess will offer 7-night Inside Passage cruises, departing roundtrip from Seattle, Vancouver and Los Angeles.

Denali Wilderness Lodge campus

The Denali Wilderness Lodge is exclusive to Princess guests

Meanwhile, Ruby Princess, top of page, will sail roundtrip from San Francisco, offering several 10-night Inside Passage cruises, while Sun Princess will spend May to June sailing 7-night Inside Passage cruises roundtrip from Vancouver and July to August on a series of 14-night voyages out of Los Angeles.

During their cruise, guests can enjoy authentic experiences as part of the North to Alaska’regional onboard programme, including:

  • Puppies in the Piazza, where Alaskan sled dog puppies are brought onboard for guests to interact with
  • Cook my catch, a culinary programme that allows guests on select fishing excursions to have their very own catch of the day prepared by a chef onboard
  • The opportunity to hear from Libby Riddles, the first female Iditarod Champion

Princess also owns and operates five wilderness lodges in riverside locations near national parks, offering 21 cruisetour options for guests that combine a seven-day cruise with a multi-night land tour.

During their land tour, guests can take advantage of a number of experiences which are exclusive to Princess, including:

  • Fannie Q’s Saloon and Fireside Patio at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. Named after local Alaskan pioneer, Fannie Quigley, the saloon features indoor and outdoor seating, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fireside patio offers a place for guests to relax and unwind
  • The treehouse, offering panoramic views of Denali as well as various themed activities.
  • A “direct to the wilderness” rail service, which takes guests between the ship and Denali National Park area
