From stand-up paddle boarding to shopping with the head chef … A-ROSA River Cruises unveils 40 new excursions for 2020

A-ROSA Rhine Cruise - walking in Antwerp

Fancy gliding down the Ijsselmeer Lake on a stand-up paddle board? Or exploring Vienna a little differently by electric classic car? Or how about taking the kids on a trip to chocolate haven with a visit to the chocolate museum in Antwerp?

All this and more is now possible while enjoying an A-ROSA river cruise, with the expansion of their shore excursion programme for 2020 to include 48 new options.

In total, a choice of more than 250 excursions are now available, broken down into five categories: discovery; adventure; family; bicycle and gourmet.

A focus for 2020 has been to grow the range of more unusual tours, offering guests the chance to do something a little different and perhaps unexpected.

A-ROSA has also grown the number of excursions that are for individuals who would like a more intimate experience, rather than joining a full group tour.

New options include:

  • Stand-up paddle boarding on IJsslemeer, Holland’s largest lake
  • Tour of Vienna by electric classic car
  • An exclusive boat tour of the Camargue
  • Trips to the local market with the ships Head Chef (Frankfurt and Budapest)
  • English speaking private tour guide for up to five people in cities such as Amsterdam, Bucharest, Strasbourg and more.
A-ROSA Rhine Cruise - Amsterdam Zoo

In addition, as a family-friendly river cruise line, A-ROSA has expanded its family options on the Rhine to include:

  • A trip to Amsterdam Zoo
  • A visit to a chocolate museum in Antwerp
  • Exploring Ehrenbrestein Fortress

These are available on the sailings with a kids club onboard.
