Pandaw has “with great saddness” cancelled all of its future cruises in Myanmar (Burma) because of what founder Paul Strachan describes as the “current deplorable situation”.
Its seven ships are safe at Pagan and are being watched over by the local community. Many families work for Pandaw and in some cases are into the second generation.
“I know the ships will be lovingly cared for and all our team there like us will be keen to get going again as soon as peace returns,” Strachan added.
Pandaw’s emergency appeal has raised more that $100,000 raised in a week enabling the provision of providing medical assistance and other forms of humanitarian support to traumatised communities.
