Celebrity Cruises is to launch river cruising across Europe in 2027 following the arrival of the first of ten new vessels.
“Celebrity River Cruises will bring the quality and sophistication of our Edge Series ocean ships to the most iconic rivers, starting with Europe,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, Celebrity’s president.
The ten transformative ships will give guests 360 degree panoramic views on the world’s most iconic rivers. They are to be built by the Netherlands-based TeamCo Shipyard who have already provided vessels for Emerald Cruises, Amadeus and AmaWaterways.
“Our guests should expect us to do what we do best – innovate and elevate the river cruise experience as we meet the growing demand for intimate, culturally enriching travel experiences,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of the parent Royal Caribbean Group.
The initial cruises will be open for booking later this year.
