The seventh ship to bear this historic name
Named Rotterdam, a powerful and symbolic name honouring Holland America’s cruise ships of her past, this new ship is the third in the Pinnacle-class fleet.
Making her maiden voyage of the Caribbean in October 2021, it is the seventh ship to bear this historic name.
Rotterdam carries 2,668 guests, weigh 99,500 tons and features highly successful amenities and innovations introduced with her sister ships.
These include the 270-degree surround screen World Stage, Rudi’s Sel de Mer and Grand Dutch Café.
Throughout the ship, Rotterdam also showcases Holland America’s hallmarks that drive one of the highest guest repeat rates in the industry: fine cuisine guided by eight of the world’s leading chefs; award-winning service; and superbly appointed staterooms and suites, including family and single accommodations.
Specialty restaurants include Rudi’s Sel de Mer, a French seafood brasserie; Tamarind, exploring traditions of Southeast Asia, China and Japan; Nami Sushi with tasty sushi and Asian spirits; Pinnacle Grill steakhouse; Canaletto with family-style Italian dining; and Club Orange exclusively for guests in the Club Orange program.
Additional culinary venues include Grand Dutch Café featuring traditional Dutch coffee and treats and European beer; Dive-In, serving gourmet burgers and fries poolside; New York Deli and Pizza, offering made-to-order sandwiches and pies; and Lido Market, with themed serving stations that revolutionise the buffet experience.
The ship also introduces the Half Moon Bar, an immersive experience looking at the history of Holland America Line and cruising through the lens of a cocktail.
Live music can be found at Lincoln Center Stage and B.B. King’s Blues Club to Rolling Stone Rock Room and Billboard Onboard, with a collection of performances each night.
