The much-anticipated renaissance of the all-suite yachts is now complete
Star Breeze, Star Legend and Star Pride have emerged from a major transformation as all-suite Star Plus Class vessels in Windstar’s $250m transformation of its six-yacht fleet.
All three yachts have undergone a complex lengthening process at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard to increase maximum capacity from 212 guests to 312 guests.
They also offer additional dining experiences – one is an outdoor barbecue concept with grilling guru Steven Raichlen and the other a Spanish small plates restaurant from Anthony Sasso, one of the youngest chefs to be recognised by the Michelin Guide.
There is also a true spa and fitness centre, an elegant infinity pool and more outdoor deck areas.
Star Breeze was the first to launch in June 2021 with Star Legend following two months later, both showcasing new suites and expanded outdoor and indoor public spaces. Star Pride finalised the project in June 2022.
The three all-suite yachts, together with Windstar’s three classic sailing yachts, remain small enough to continue to visit the special small ports and waterways of the world.
What’s new
- Star Grill by Steven Raichlen, an outdoor barbecue concept embracing the al fresco setting and ocean views with drinks like Strawberry Pimm’s Cups and Raspberry/Melon Slushies.
- Cuadro 44 by Anthony Sasso, offering a curated collection of Spanish staples, all with a modern twist. The restaurant seats a maximum of 38 guests.
- A completely re-imagined and enlarged spa and fitness centre to invigorate active guests.
- A large pool and hot tub on an elevated top deck, offering outstanding views, along with expanded outdoor deck areas for relaxing and sun-bathing.
- Fifty new suites with open floor plan configurations, as well as two brand-new, larger Owner’s Suites that can combine to create up to a three-bedroom, two-balcony suite – the first of its kind in the cruise industry.
