Oriana, the first of P&O Cruises’ superliners, is to leave the P&O Cruises fleet in August 2019 following her final cruise to Norway and North Cape on 22 July.
It will bring the curtain down an illustrious career with P&O which began with her christening by the Queen in Southampton in April 1995. She has gone on to earn a loyal following.

With her elegant tiered stern and Art Deco touches, Oriana was the first of P&O’s superliners designed and built for the British market, combining maritime tradition with nautical technology – to dazzling effect.
Large enough to traverse the world’s oceans with ease, she nevertheless retained a warm and welcoming personality.
P&O Cruises senior vice president, Paul Ludlow, said today: “Oriana is an original, and a much loved P&O Cruises ship. While we will miss her, her departure will allow us to focus on our remaining mid-sized and larger ships as the fleet expands with Iona and her sister ship in 2020 and 2022 respectively.
“Oriana will be with us until August next year so there will be plenty of opportunity to celebrate her time with us. Those guests who have sailed on Oriana will then be able to enjoy holidays on Aurora and Arcadia, both of which are exclusively for adults and have a very similar on board feel, and experience the re-vitalisation taking place over the next year.”
