Viking will be leading the field when it resumes domestic operations in the UK with the first of three special sailings departs Portsmouth on 22 May on the brand new ship, Viking Venus.
The England’s Scenic Shores itinerary, which will call at Liverpool, Tresco in the Isles of Scilly, Falmouth and Portland, is only available to UK residents. Two further cruises will depart on 29 May and 5 June.
Broadcaster and journalist Anne Diamond is to be godmother at Viking Venus’s naming ceremony, to be held in the UK on 17 May.
“We are in a position to restart operations quickly and to start sailing again in May because we have kept our ships crewed during warm lay-up throughout the past 12 months, ” said Torstein Hagen, chairman of Viking.
“With our new protocol enhancements in place, we feel strongly there will be no safer way to travel the world than on a Viking voyage and we look forward to welcoming UK guests back on board very soon.”
Pre-registration is currently open only to past guests. More details about the voyages will be released in due course.
