This is the highest level ever recorded and compares to six per cent in 2019.
The number of passengers in all other age groups under the age of 60 also rose.
The most notable swing is the total number of passengers over 60, rising from3 7 per cent in 2019 to 44 per cent.

The Blaster on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas
Modern fleets such as Royal Caribbean and MSC now offer exciting features such as water parks and climbing walls that appeal to the young.
The figures – taken from cruise.co.uk’s full 2022 bookings data – are striking as cruises operate all year-round, meaning children and working adults can only travel during their holiday periods, whereas retirees can be more flexible with their sailing dates.
