Bremen among first passenger ships to receive Polar Ship Certificate
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ expedition ship, MS Bremen, has become one of the first passenger ships in the world to receive the Polar Ship Certificate which will be mandatory for ships operating in the polar regions. The rest of the fleet will meet the same requirements by next year’s Arctic season. It’s Silversea showtime for London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
A brand new signature production show, Grande Amore, will soon premiere on the stages of Silversea’s five ships. Themed around the world of opera, the show will feature all-new musical tracks recorded exclusively for Silversea by London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. WeChat introduced on Costa Atlantica in China
Costa Cruises is launching a new WeChat program on its Costa Asia fleet in China. Using the country’s leading online social communication platform, Chinese guests will be able to enjoy hassle-free mobile payment and enhanced onboard experiences. The service kicked off on Costa Atlantica on Saturday (2 September).
Kiel chalks up 350th call by MSC
MSC Fantasia arrives at the Ostseekai from St Petersburg in Russia on Saturday (2 September) to clock up the 350th visit by an MSC cruise ship to the port of Kiel. MSC cruise ships have been calling at the port of Kiel regularly for 12 years. Rhapsody was the first to call on 4 September, 2005.
