Jane McDonald has become the UK’s TV queen of cruising as we have witnessed see her sailing, and laughing, her way around the world on a wide variety of voyages.
The presenter, singer and all-round entertainer, who famously co-captained The Cruise back in the late 1990s, has more recently been seen in her BAFTA winning Channel 5 show Cruising with Jane McDonald, in which she has shown us the islands of Scotland right through to parts of America and even India.
And the statistics showing the costs of travelling to those incredible destinations, and how many miles Jane has clocked up in the process, make interesting reading.
Shearings, Europe’s largest coach tour operator, have tallied up the numbers, revealing each and every destination the “Loose Woman” has visited throughout her time on TV, and how much you would have to pay to follow in her footsteps.

- The 64,626 miles she has covered is equivalent to 15 round trips from the UK to Australia.
- Her 2017 trip to Alaska, where she took a helicopter trip up to an ice field for a dog-sledding adventure, was the most expensive overall, costing a £2,387
- The 2017 series was the most expensive, with a round trip to each destination featured costing approximately £7,256
- She has visited 32 countries over her TV career
