New ship American Melody shrugs off hurricane devastation to debut as planned on the Mississippi
The inaugural season of American Cruise Lines’ newest modern riverboat, American Melody, has set sail on the Mississippi despite the difficulties posed by Hurricane Ida in Louisiana. She cast off on Friday (3 September), allowing guests to celebrate Labor Day Weekend exploring the lower Mississippi as they embark along American’s 22-Day Complete Mississippi River Cruise.
