Carnival Breeze entered service in June 2012, bringing with it a host of exciting and unique new elements created especially for the vessel.

The third of Carnival’s Dream class ships was built at Fincantieri’s Italian shipyard from where the second in the class, Carnival Magic, arrived in Europe in May 2011.

The series’ namesake vessel, Carnival Dream, entered service in 2009.

Carnival Breeze offers some exciting and unique new elements

Says Carnival president Gerry Cahill: “Carnival Breeze is a spectacular addition to our fleet and its name reflects the continued evolution of our brand while conveying the fun and carefree spirit associated with a Carnival cruise.”

As one would expect, the 130,000-ton Carnival Breeze offers a host of exciting innovations, including expansive top-deck areas such as

WaterWorks, an aqua park with exhilarating water slides and other attractions;
SportSquare, an open-air recreation complex with a ropes course, mini-golf, and outdoor fitness area;
The Lanai, a wraparound promenade with whirlpools extending over the ship’s sides, and a 270-square-foot poolside LED screen displaying movies, and other programming.

Carnival Breeze, which can carry 3.690 passengers, also features the Red Frog Pub, a lively spot for tasty island-inspired snacks and drinks, including its own private label beer.

Other dining highlights include Cucina del Capitano, a family-style Italian restaurant that brings the heritage of Carnival’s captains to the table, along with a casual two-level poolside eatery, and a classic American-style steakhouse.

Dedicated play areas for children, ’tweens and teens, as well as a two-level health and fitness centre, and a wide variety of accommodation options area available as well.

Carnival Breeze also introduces colourful Caribbean-inspired interiors that take their cue from the region’s cool island breezes and warm tropical sunsets.

The striking new tropical design theme is carried out in the ship’s public spaces, as well as staterooms which offer a combination of bright colours and soothing pastel hues.

Back on parade! Baked Alaska fanfare returns to Carnival ships

Thursday, 30 November 2017 by David Simpson

Seasoned cruisers will fondly recollect the forgotten Baked Alaska Parade in which uniformed waiters would circulate around the restaurant each holding a flaming dessert made of cake and ice cream topped with meringue. Now the time-honoured tradition is making a comeback. The parade is being re-introduced after several years on the sidelines as part of
