Borealis

Bringing new venues and facilities that are sure to win over loyal Olsen fans

Borealis, bought from Holland America in summer 2020, set sail on her maiden voyage for Fred Olsen in July 2021 bringing a number of new venues and facilities to the fleet.

At 62,000 tons she is larger that what Olsen’s loyal guests have been used to, but her stylish, spacious and comfort is sure to win them over.

And her capacity of fewer than 1,400 guests is still relatively low, and she remains in keeping with Olsen’s commitment to offering a more traditional style of cruising.

New features include a grand, two-tier theatre and main restaurant, an all-weather pool with retractable roof, a large spa and thermal suite and new venue The Auditorium offering culinary demonstrations and more.

There’s an undoubted sense of occasion to dining in Borealis’s grand two-tiered main restaurant featuring classical, elegant décor and a variety of seating options and table sizes for both intimate and large group dining.

Guests can also savour Borealis’s new specialty dining restaurants. Vasco, named after the famous explorer Vasco Da Gama, the first European to reach India by sea, offers a fresh and modern take on Indian food, while Colours & Tastes offers modern Asian Fusion dishes.

The décor is colourful, the mood cheerful and the food offers a stimulating set of new taste experiences.

The dress code in all restaurants is casual during the day, while the evenings are usually smart-casual, apart from on our fantastic Formal Nights.

Borealis features 11 stylish, spacious and comfortable bars and lounges, providing plenty of choice and variety.

The ship’s facilities include The Oasis swimming pool, two jacuzzis and spa with Hydro Pool, two saunas and nine treatment rooms.

Evening entertainment features selection of live shows in stylish lounges and theatres, ranging from music and cabaret to stand-up comed .

And throughout the ship you can sit, relax and enjoy a favourite tipple accompanied by the gentle sounds of live acoustic music.
