Luxurious ice maiden that even has an Antarctic island name after her
MS Bremen is a four-star cruise expedition ship operated by the German cruise line Hapag-Lloyd since 1993.
She began life as Frontier Spirit having been built at the Mitsubishi Shipyard in Kobe, Japan, in 1990.
The vessel accommodates a maximum of 155 passengers along with a qualified expedition team of naturalists who lead expeditions ahore ashore and also provide informative talks onboard.
The dining room features big picture windows and open seating. Guests can also enjoy breakfast and lunch in The Club or the outside Grill.
The forward-facing observation lounges doubles as a lecture theatre, bandstand and bar.
The ship carries 12 zodiacs enabling guests to navigate narrow inlets and get really close to the action. Indeed, a previously uncharted island in the Antarctic was discovered by Bremen in 2003, and was named Bremen Island the following year.
