The re-inspiration of classic elegance

In August 2018, Oceania Cruises announced a dramatic $100 million re-inspiration process aimed at delivering four “better than new” ships.

The project, called OceaniaNEXT, reimagined Oceania’s Regatta Class ships Regatta, Insignia, Nautica and Sirena, and while their exteriors remained the same, every inch of décor and furnishings on the inside was refreshed.

In collaboration with celebrated designers, craftsmen and award-winning artists for classically understated style and elegance, the OceaniaNEXT initiative featured a sweeping array of dramatic enhancements designed to elevate every facet of the guest experience.

Each ship emerged from the process with 342 brand new designer suites and staterooms and new décor in the restaurants, lounges and bars, inspired by the line’s 450 ports of call.

Insignia was the first to debut on 7 December, followed by Sirena in May 2019, Regatta four months later and Nautica in June 2020.

The ships now feature richly appointed and stylish new interiors that showcase the best of residential design. Furnishings from Baker and Donghia along with fabrics from Rubelli and Kravet adorn the public spaces, with new richly-hued custom-milled carpets line the floors.

A sparkling new Grand Staircase framed by intricate railings and balustrades inset with crystal accents welcomes guests onboard. Overhead, a crowning grand chandelier adorned with hanging pieces of smoked and hand-painted glass, sets the space aglow.

The Grand Dining Room features buttery soft cream leather dining chairs accented with metallic bronze threading to catch the light from the stunning new crystal chandelier, which will be the room’s defining centrepiece.

Wanting guests to feel at home while away from home, the brand-new staterooms and suites are lighter, brighter and even more spacious.

Stripped down to their studs, every ounce of the re-inspired accommodations was modernised, with custom-crafted furnishings, exotic stone and polished wood finishes and designer accessories, creating a harmonious celebration of style and comfort.

Every fixture and surface of the bathrooms is new, with designer fixtures, perfect lighting, lavish vanities and chic glass shower enclosures.  Penthouse, Vista and Owner’s Suites bathrooms offer more space outfitted with Carrara marble, polished granite and sleek onyx.
