MARELLA EXPLORER

And now for something completely different …

In summer 2018, Marella welcomed Marella Explorer to the fleet, stepping up a gear with with a bumper batch of 10 restaurants and 10 bars.

The ship, formerly Celebrity Galaxy, offers fleet favourites like Snack Shack and Kora La, plus brand new spaces like The Dining Club for foodies and a swanky bar, club and casino.

The highlights don’t stop at food and drink. There’s also an indoor cinema, a Sports & Family Deck and a Champneys spa, where you can sign up for everything from body-balancing acupuncture and slimming treatments to body wraps and facials.

You’ll feel like you’ve switched continents when you dine at the Kora La. It offers a pan-Asian selection of curries and noodle dishes, a separate sushi menu, plus bespoke dishes created by master chef Ian Pengelley exclusively for Marella Cruises.

As one of the ship’s speciality restaurants, there’s a charge to dine here, but its popularity means its best to make a reservation in advance.

And if you fancy something long to drink, then you won’t get any longer than at the Indigo where its bar lays claim to the longest in the fleet. There’s plenty of seating around the bar’s edge, where you can take in the 360-degree views – day or night.

The Lounge bar is also out of the ordinary with its colour-changing featurer, hot-pink piano and funky, ring-shaped seats from which to admire the views while listening to the soothing soundtrack of the live pianist.

And for something new with Marella Cruises, it has partnered with Champneys to provide a state-of-the-art spa that packs in a relaxation room, made-for-two suites and treatment cabins with hot tubs.

There’s also an adults-only sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows and a steam room.
