Norwegian Cruise Line packs even more into its biggest ever ship
From the ships eye-catching hull artwork to thrilling waterslides and ropes course, Norwegian Escape, as the first ship in the Breakaway Plus Class, represented a true evolution for the Norwegian brand, incorporating guest favourites and providing further freedom and flexibility for guests.
Norwegian Cruise Lines largest ever ship to date began sailing weekly seven-day cruises from its year-round homeport of Miami to the Eastern Caribbean when she entered service on 14 November, 2015.
The 164,000- ton ship was the largest ever to home port year-round in Miami, carrying 4,200 guests to tropical Caribbean destinations including St Thomas, Tortola, and Nassau.
Its signature hull artwork was designed by marine wildlife artist and champion of ocean conservation, Guy Harvey.
Dining and entertainment includes outposts of several popular land-based outlets, including the first-ever floating Jimmy Buffetts Margaritaville restaurant and 5 OClock Somewhere Bar, a music venue and outdoor bar on The Waterfront that will feature live nightly performances.
James Beard Award-Winning Iron Chef Jose Garces has two concepts onboard, a Latin seafood specialty restaurant and Pincho Tapas Bar, while Miami-based The Pubbelly Restaurant Group develops the menu for the Food Republic, an upscale food emporium.

Norwegian Escape also features Miamis oldest and most legendary bar, Tobacco Road.
The ship features the largest ropes course at sea – a three-storey multiplex of heart-pounding challenges complete with two planks and five Sky Rails, zip tracks that allow guests to soar through the air.
The Aqua Park was also the largest at sea, including a new Aqua Racer slide. Adding to the family fun, Norwegian Escape also features an expanded Kids Aqua Park, along with the lines first dedicated nursery for young cruisers two and under.
