Mouth-watering! #ChooseCruise campaign focuses on dining options on sea and river

The CLIA #ChooseCruise campaign, now in its second month, is this week focusing on the huge range of mouth-watering dining options onboard ocean and river ships.

Says Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland director: “Cruise holidays are the ultimate slice of foodie heaven for anyone wanting to dine in style.

“Ocean and river ships pride themselves on offering a feast of mouth-watering cuisines and dining experiences that cater for everyone. Guests can choose from a wide range of options – with the largest ships having up to 30 dining venues – from poolside burger bars and pizza counters right up to speciality cuisine restaurants and exclusive chef’s table experiences.

“The focal point on any ship is the main dining restaurant, where guests are generally free to dine whenever they wish. But it is the variety of speciality dining options that have injected exciting new flavours into cruise ship cuisine.”

Cruise guests can literally dine around the world onboard their ship, sampling Japanese sushi bars and Mexican eateries; tucking into sizzling steaks at American-style grills or savouring garlic-infused escargots in cosy French bistros.

The #ChooseCruise campaign, which ran across the UK cruise industry in September, is now running globally across Cruise Lines International Association members for October. The aim is to highlight the different onboard experiences on offer through a holiday at sea or on a river ship.

Harmer adds: “For those wanting more private dining moments, guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on their balconies, served course by course – sometimes by their own butler.

“And with special dietary needs catered for as standard – from vegan and vegetarian to diabetic and gluten-free – as well as a plethora of healthy options too, it’s clear that cruises can easily satisfy the appetites of all-comers.”
