The Foreign Office decision to exclude river cruising from its earlier advice not to cruise was declared “a boost to our industry” by the CLIA today.
“This latest change to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s advisory regarding cruise ship travel provides a very welcome boost to our industry,” Andy Harmer, CLIA’s director for UK & Ireland , said in a statement issued this morning.
“We are seeing a gradual, phased-in approach to resumption of cruise operations across Europe, initially domestic and regional.
“Over the last few weeks we have seen river cruise lines such as A-ROSA and CroisiEurope commence sailings in Europe and we look forward to seeing more cruise lines take to the rivers in the near future.
Looking ahead, CLIA is continuing its constructive dialogue with the Department for Transport and Public Health England to finalise the road map to resumption of international cruise travel.
