The keel-laying ceremony for Emerald Sakara, the newest yacht in the Emerald Cruises fleet, took place last week at the Ha Long Bay shipyard in Vietnam.
The sister to the soon-to-be-launched Emerald Azzurra is the second luxury superyacht in Emerald’s ocean fleet and is due to launch early in 2023. Itineraries are already on sale.
Glen Moroney, owner of Scenic Group, which includes Emerald Cruises, said: “We are very excited with the progress of our ocean yacht division, with demand from guests globally giving us the confidence to build a sister yacht to Emerald Azzurra.”
Following her maiden voyage through the Indian Ocean islands of the Seychelles – a new destination for the cruise line – Emerald Sakara will join Azzurra sailing the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Red and Black Seas.
The vessel will continue to raise the bar within the superyacht cruising market, with balconies on 88 per cent of cabins and more space per guest than similar yachts of her size.
Guests will enjoy a large infinity pool, spa, gym and marina platform, with a number of marina toys available such as paddleboards and snorkelling equipment.
