Silversea Cruises, which recently joined the Royal Caribbean stable, today signed an agreements for three new ships.
The first to arrive will be Silver Origin, to replace Silver Galapagos cruising in the Galapagos Islands, while the other two will create a new “Evolution Class”, the first arriving in 2022.

Silversea signed a contract with Dutch shipbuilder Shipyard De Hoop to construct Silver Origin, while the order for the Evolution ships has been awarded to German shipbuilder Meyer Werft
Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Silversea’s Executive Chairman, said today: “We are pushing the boundaries of ultra-luxury cruising, as well as expedition cruising in the Galápagos Islands and beyond, redefining the concept of immersive travel.”
Richard D. Fain, chairman of parent company RCCL, added: “We are excited to get to work helping Silversea grow and realise its ambitions. There is tremendous potential in the ultra-luxury and expedition markets of the cruise industry, and we believe discerning travellers will embrace the exciting designs Silversea is imagining for them.”
