Three-time Grammy award winning singer and songwriter Gwen Stefani is to christen the 6,500-guest Carnival Jubilee in a special ceremony in Galveston, Texas, on 24 February.
Stefani said: “Carnival is taking it to the next level of fun while being committed to children’s causes and supporting our military families and veterans.”
A section of the naming ceremony, to be held onboard the ship, will be broadcast live on Carnival’s Facebook page at 9:30pm UK time.
Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, added: “Gwen Stefani has demonstrated her commitment to our Carnival values, including promoting diversity and inclusion, supporting charitable causes, being a leader in her field, and of course, having fun.”

Carnival Jubilee is the third ship in Carnival’s Excel class
Carnival Jubilee, which entered service in December, is the third ship in Carnival’s Excel class and uses a liquefied natural gas technology platform to support emissions reduction targets.
Onboard it features two new ‘zones’, Currents and The Shores – which include bars, restaurants and live music venues – as well as the Bolt rollercoaster, the Waterworks pool area and Sportsquare.
