Globe trotting twins: Viking Sky and Viking Neptune to sail the world in tandem in 2024

Viking world cruise 2024

After its 2021 and 2022 world cruises sold out in record time, Viking decided to double up capacity in 2023/24 by sending out Viking Sky and Viking Neptune to cruise globe in tandem.

The twin sisters will follow each other out of Ft Lauderdale three days apart to cruise for 138 days to 28 countries, calling at57 ports en route, with overnight stays in 11 cities.

Viking Sky will depart on 20 December, and Viking Neptune on the 23rd, with both ships sailing an identical itinerary in parallel.

From Florida guests will journey to Central America, before transiting the Panama Canal and sailing up the West Coast of North America.

A shorter 121-day Viking World Journeys itinerary is also available, allowing guests to join in Los Angeles and cross the Pacific Ocean to call in Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand, before exploring ports of call in Asia and the Middle East.

Finally, the ships will journey through the Mediterranean and conclude the voyage in London.

“Our previous World Cruises sold out in a matter of weeks, and we are now seeing more interest in these extended voyages than ever before,” said Torstein Hagen, chairman of Viking.

“Our guests are curious people; we view travel as an opportunity to discover, learn and grow.”
