Authentic and inspiring travel experiences on the best river cruise fleet in Europe, according to Berlitz

AmaWaterways provides all-encompassing river cruise holidays on the most breathtaking waterways of Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia.

Founded in 2002 by river cruise pioneers Rudi Schreiner, Kristin Karst and Jimmy Murphy, the company has earned a reputation for transforming the river cruise industry and creating authentic and inspiring travel experiences.

Star of the fleet AmaMagna is nearly twice the width of traditional European river ships

In June 2018, AmaWaterways ships earned six of the top ten positions in the third edition of the Berlitz: River Cruising in Europe & the USA travel guide – including the three top spots.

Securing the coveted number one spot, due in part to outstanding cuisine and service, was one of the newest ships in the fleet –  AmaKristina.

Many of AmaWaterways’ staterooms feature a French Balcony or unique “Twin Balcony”, consisting of a French Balcony and a full-size step-out balcony providing expansive views.

Renowned for its cuisine, AmaWaterways is proud to be the first river cruise line inducted into La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, one of the world’s most prestigious culinary organisations. All meals on board are included, along with a wide selection of complimentary regional wines, beer and soft drinks at every lunch and dinner.

A wide range of included excursions very between gentle, regular and active paces and AmaWaterways was the first river cruise to include bicycles on board its European fleet. For summer 2018, the company introduced dedicated Wellness hosts on six of its ships.

2019 was another memorable year for AmaWaterways with three new ships joining the fleet, including the AmaMagna, to be followed by AmaSienna in summer 2020.

At nearly twice the width of traditional European river ships, AmaMagna is a revolutionary new vessel offering a unique watersports platform, choice of four restaurants, wellness studio and ultra-spacious accommodation.

The recent Berlitz Guide describes AmaMagna as a “stunning, double-width rivership” having “oodles of space, comfort and pizzazz”.

In addition to its European fleet, AmaWaterways features exotic itineraries in Africa and Southeast Asia. Through these unique sailings, travellers can delve into the heart of these destination with knowledgeable guides who share personal insights into the local history, people and cuisine.
