Ponant Expedition Cruises
Relax and explore the world’s extreme regions … in extreme comfort
Ponant’s new fleet of Explorer yachts allow guests to do just that … explore the world’s most remote and inaccessible regions in supreme comfort with luxury service.
Recognised as a world leader in Polar cruising, Ponant’s six stunning yachts have been purposefully designed to navigate in extreme regions, allowing passengers to gain access to exceptional locations and regions on adventures that are authentic yet refined.
The vessels, delivered over the past two years, are designed for expedition cruising, small enough to be able to visit the most exceptional sites which other ships will find it difficult to reach.
Le Lapérouse and Le Champlain were delivered in 2018, Le Bougainville and Le Dumont-d’Urville in 2019, with Le Bellot and Le Jacques Cartier arriving in 2020.
And in 2021, the company’s fleet took a major leap forward with its first first electric hybrid cruise icebreaker, Le Commandant Charcot, powered by LNG.
The new generation of Explorers, flying under the French flag, are all fitted with the latest technologies, and comply with the most recent environmental regulations.
Fitted with innovative equipment, 88 elegantly designed cabins, four spacious suites with windows and lounge areas opening onto the outside, the new limited-capacity yachts provide a unique cruising experience.
A a movable marina platform enables passengers to swim and engage in other activities directly from the ship.
Named after famous French explorer, the six yachts are also fitted with a world exclusive multi-sensory underwater lounge, called Blue Eye. Located within the hull beneath the water line, it allows passengers to see, hear and feel the underwater world.
