Quark Expeditions

Cutting the ice as polar cruise experts for almost 30 years

Quark Expeditions has been the leader in providing polar adventure travel for almost 30 years.

With its diverse fleet of specially equipped vessels, unique land-based adventures and seasoned expedition leaders, Quark offers travellers access to the most remote regions on earth: the Arctic and Antarctica.

Quark Ultramarine

Utramarine, the newest ship in the Quark fleet, is designed to go beyond the familiar in polar exploration

Since 1991, Quark Expeditions has specialised in expedition cruising to the Arctic and Antarctica, in ships with ice-strengthened hulls or in icebreakers. Polar travellers enjoy unparalleled technical expertise, leadership and passion for expedition trips.

Boasting the largest and most diverse fleet of polar adventure ships, including the only nuclear-powered icebreaker, 50 Years of Victory, travellers choose from more departures and a greater variety of itineraries than is available anywhere else.

Polar Adventure Ships are platforms for optional sea-kayaking, camping, mountaineering and cross-country skiing. Their small size enables them to sail channels and bays through which the icebreakers cannot sail, and every ship is equipped with inflatable landing for shore transfers and ocean-level cruising.

The ability to get close to landscapes and wildlife make these vessels extraordinary base camps for photographers.

Vessels carry a maximum 199 travellers from around the world who share a preference for travel to remote wilderness areas accompanied by expedition team members eager to share their knowledge and love for the Arctic and Antarctica.
