P&O Cruises

The British cruise line offering British cruisers the most stylish holidays afloat

It is said that P&O “invented” cruising. In 2017 it celebrated its 180th anniversary of operating cruise ships, culminating in its current fleet of sseven ships dedicated to the British market, all of them offering innovation, professionalism and an exceptional experience.

P&O Cruises offers predominantly British passengers the most stylish and contemporary holidays afloat with destinations including the Caribbean, South America, Scandinavia, Mediterranean, Atlantic Islands and Round-the-World cruises.

It can trace its roots back to 1837 and, 72 years later, introduced its first programme of modern-style cruises – First Class only with excursions arranged by none other than Thomas Cook.

Arvia

Arvia became flagship of the P&O fleet in December 2022

The arrival of a fleet of new superliners had a dramatic impact for P&O Cruises cruisers worldwide.

Ventura, an innovative ship built for the British market, joined the fleet in 2008 and helped heighten the experience. And the 116,000-ton Azura became a sophisticated addition to the P&O Cruises fleet in spring 2010.

The “modern classic” liner, the Britannia, became the biggest ship designed exclusively for Britain when she joined the fleet in March 2015.

Arcadia carries 1,952 passengers and 880 crew and has more cabins with balconies than any other UK-based cruise ship. A child-free ship, she offers an extensive range of modern and innovative ‘lifestyle’ experiences including: an extensive spa with couples treatment rooms; contemporary dining, and the New Horizon enrichment programme with guest speakers who are leading experts in their own particular fields.

P&O Cruises also operates ships ideally suited to the particular itineraries they operate. Aurora is  designed as an ocean-going superliner, equipped to accommodate passengers for longer-length voyages.

New 180,000-ton flagship Iona‘s maiden season was delayed until August 2021 because of the pandemic and ster ship Arvia makes her maiden voyage in December 2022.

PASSENGER VERDICT

From start to finish every one and everything was perfect. We were looked after and spoiled the whole cruise. It made our wedding perfect.
