The fleet has expanded rapidly, not only keeping pace but setting new standards. Its 14 ships and the line’s service, cuisine and spas have consistently dominated top travellers’ surveys.
It boasts four of the top 10 “Top Cruise Ships in the World” in the large-ship category, including Celebrity Solstice, which was joined by Celebrity Equinox in 2009, with Celebrity Eclipse arriving in April 2010, Celebrity Silhouette in 2011 and Celebrity Reflection in 2012.
Celebrity Edge and Apex are spearheading Celebrity’s cruise revolution
A new ship Celebrity Edge, which became the flagship of the fleet in November 2018, is setting revolutionary new standards, with a second Edge-class ship, Celebrity Apex, which joined the fleet in early 2020.
The Celebrity Expeditions sub-brand was launched in 2001 with the acquisition of Celebrity Xpedition, a small boutique ship offering specialised cruises around the Galápagos Islands.
On March 14, 2016, Celebrity Cruises announced the planned acquisition of Galápagos Islands tour operator Ocean Adventures and its two ships, the 48-guest M/V Eclipse (now Celebrity Xperience) and the 16-guest catamaran M/C Athala II (now Celebrity Xploration). The move expanded Celebrity’s guest capacity in the Galápagos by 65 per cent.
The arrival of in June 2019 of newbuild Celebrity Flora boosted Celebrity’s presence even further, providing the largest and arguably the most luxurious accommodations in the region.
Celebrity sails in Alaska, Australia/New Zealand, California, Canada/New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Galapagos Islands, Hawaii, the Pacific Coast, Panama Canal and South America. The line also offers unique cruisetour vacations in Alaska, Australia, Canada, Europe and South America.
